Oak Flooring and Renovation
Engineered Oak Flooring From British Hardwoods.
Due to a burst pipe in the upstairs bathroom, this dinning room was left in a sorry state with the ceiling falling through and the original oak flooring swelling past the point of return. Our customers made the decision to claim on there home insurance for the work to be put right and we were the contractors to do the project.
Once the pipe had been fixed on an emergency call out we set about repairing and plastering the ceiling and taking up the wet oak floor. Time was given to all the sub floor to dry before the new flooring was to be fit. We love British Hardwoods products and the flooring is of the highest quality. A new engineered oak floor was to be laid and new skirting boards to cove an expansion gap.
The room its self is not square, it is more of a trapezoid shape with he window end of the room bing nearly 150mm wider. Once the centre of the room was determined, we worked back from this point to make sure the focal view of the room was straight to the window as the floor was laid.
the room was then decorated by Rob at Prestige Paper Hanging based in Skipton, as I am the first to put may hand up and say, wall paper hanging isn’t for me! He did a fantastic job and took a lot of pride in his work. I look forward to working with him again.
