Handmade Oak Coffee Table with

Purple Heartwood  dovetail inlays

This recent addition to a kitchen we designed is a beautiful, bespoke dining table created to perfectly complement the oak worktops in the seating area. Made from solid oak, the table features striking Purple Heart wood inlays, which add a unique pop of color and visual interest. At each end, we incorporated a dovetail feature, a nod to traditional craftsmanship that also enhances the table’s overall aesthetic.

The base is constructed using traditional joinery techniques, with mortise and tenon rails on the legs, providing both strength and elegance. Oak dowels run through the legs, offering practical space for storing books or other personal items, adding both functionality and character to the piece. The table is finished in a durable hard wax oil, which not only brings out the wood’s natural beauty but also ensures the table will stand the test of time, even in a busy family environment.
