Solid oak door canopy

Bespoke joinery Project.

Solid oak door canopy designed, made and installed

This was bespoke joinery project we recently installed in the village of Bradley near Skipton. For us this was a really enjoyable project from the design to the installation and we couldn’t be more happy with the outcome. Our customer approached us regarding the idea to make a feature oak canopy, we set about designing it to the influence from our customers Pintrest board (we love a Pintrest board). Throughout the design we were very conscious of the weight, so It was built from seasoned oak instead of green oak and built to look chunky but light.

A mixture of traditional and modern joinery were used to achieve the desired look with prime cuts of kindred oak. The combination of the curves on the gallows brackets and in the A frame add the attractiveness of the design and the whole thing has a modern rustic feel. To match the roof of the house, blue slate was used. If you are interested in a bespoke oak canopy, then head over to our contacts page and let’s see what we can do for you. All design work is free so you get to see the project to scale before it is built.

Take a look at our bespoke joinery page or our recent work to see more of our projects. There is plenty of influence if you need some ideas and we are happy to talk you through any potential joinery projects
