Solid oak Coffee table

with Purple Heart wood

This is a small project I made for myself. Very occasionally I get a spare bit of time in the workshop and I though I would put it to good use. My two boyos Harry and River like nothing more that eating there spaghetti hoops in front of cartoons in front of the TV so I thought I would up the game!

This is a solid oak table about 400mm high with quite a simple structure as far as tables go. I added a Purple Heart wood rail at the base and crossed oak dowels through it to add interest. Finished in Osmo top oil that is food safe with all mortice and tenon joints that will last for years to come. (I say that lightly as they destroy everything) lets see how long it lasts. even writing this I know its covered in crayon marks!
