Skipton Coffee Bar Counter

New coffee and snack bar opening in Skipton.

The Cozy Cuppas new bar made by us.

I always love a project that can be made unique and individual to our customers needs through our bespoke joinery. This is a new business venture in Skipton By Nigel and Daz called The Cozy Cuppa to be oping in early Feb 2024. I was first approached to take on this project with the idea that I would personally take on the talk of making an interesting project and it would be left in my hands as far as creativity and Ideas go.

I have been drying out theses oak sleepers for a couple of years now and I think this was a perfect opportunity for them to find a new home within this joinery project. Large stop chamfers were routed on to the posts and all the oak was finished in Mylands Black wax as well was the oak frames. Black Valchromat was used as a background to display the oak with a simple bold look. To make the project more interesting we sourced some old textile cogs from a working mill to add a feature to the project. The idea was to make the counter look like it was make from reclaimed parts of an old textile mill.

A black granite worktop was fit by our good friends at Select Worktops in Keighley who always do a fantasist job! on the reverse of the bar, Birch Plywood cabinets are used with adjustable shelving to allow for the working of the snack bar. At the back of the shop a matching dividing wall was made and out of eye sight fitted with hygiene boards to allow for two clean areas.

Really enjoyable project to work on and great to see it in situation. Good luck with your new business Nigel and Daz! we will be popping in for a coffee as soon as you are open. If you have a project that you would like some ideas with, then please do give me a call and we can have chat about our bespoke joinery services.
