Pine floor sanding and waxing
Pine floor sanding and finishing
This Pine floor in a 1900s build in Bingley has been transformed with a stunning finish! The floor had been poorly sanded before and covered in an extremely dark varnish, leaving the room dull and in desperate need of a new lease of life. The old pine boards, however, had so much character, and with a little care, we were able to restore them to their former glory.
To start, we used an aggressive 40-grit orbital sander to strip away the old varnish and remove any cupping from the boards. Pine being quite soft made this a relatively straightforward process. Our equipment is equipped with dust-free extraction, ensuring a clean and efficient job with minimal disruption to our customer’s day.
Once the main sanding was done, we carefully feathered the edges and detailed the corners using the same range of grits to ensure a smooth, consistent finish across the entire floor. To complete the transformation, we applied Osmo Hard Wax Oil, which soaked into the wood and cured to a durable, hard finish. This oil not only enhances the natural beauty of the pine but also makes the floor easy to maintain for years to come.
The job was completed in a single day, so our customer could quickly return to their routine without much disruption.
