This is an engineered oak floor we have recently been commissioned to install, For the most smooth results, the skirting boards are removed to allow for expansion underneath and the Skirting sit back on top. This floor is installed on to a thermal moisture barrier and tongue tie screws are used to fit the floor to the existing sub floor. With engineered being a lot more static product this makes for a solid connection with the tongue and grove of the boards also glued for a solid finish.
