Inframe Hague Blue Kitchen

In frame hardwood shaker Kitchen, Rawdon Leeds

We recently had the pleasure of designing and creating a stunning frame kitchen for our clients, Johnathan and Becky, in Rawdon, Leeds. The couple’s charming old cottage originally featured a small kitchen at the front of the house. However, with modern-day needs in mind, the kitchen was relocated to a new extension, providing a much-needed increase in space.

From the very start, this project was a joy to work on. After an initial measure-up and a productive conversation about how the kitchen needed to function practically, we began designing and incorporating ideas. The daily collaboration between us and the clients created a dynamic, creative atmosphere that made the entire process feel like a true partnership.

As with many of our projects, the cabinets were built from birch plywood with a non-modular face frame and traditional shaker doors. We chose Hague Blue by Farrow & Ball for the cabinetry, which was hand-painted to give a classic, timeless look. Solid oak accents were added throughout, complementing the deep blue tones perfectly. To accommodate Becky, who is a little smaller than Johnathan, we adjusted the peninsula, reducing its size by 100mm to make it more user-friendly.

The kitchen also features a full-size pantry with large pan drawers and automatic lighting, an open dresser-style cabinet for displaying ornaments, and a custom wine rack made from oak dowels and leather straps—though cutting that was a challenge! White quartz worktops, a copper sink, and fully integrated appliances complete the design. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, and we look forward to returning to fit a few more accessories.
