In frame Shaker Kitchen
Take a look at our new handmade Kitchen
fitted in a cottage built in the 1700s in Glusburn.
We closely project-managed this renovation for our customers, Janet and John, ensuring every detail met their exact specifications. From designing the kitchen to the final installation, we were involved at every step of the process. The old kitchen was completely removed, with all loose plaster taken off the walls and re-skimmed. The room was fully redecorated, and the slate floor was made good to prepare for the new design. Solid oak window sills were crafted, and the existing beams were sanded down to complement the new oak features.
The kitchen itself is a full beaded face frame shaker style, designed with both practicality and beauty in mind. The cabinetry is built from birch wood, with tulip wood shaker doors, creating a timeless, high-quality finish. The worktops are a striking combination of half quartz and half solid oak planks, balancing durability and warmth. The kitchen is hand-painted in Windmill Lane by The Little Greene Paint Company and Stoney Ground by Farrow & Ball, adding a soft, inviting colour palette to the space.
At the heart of the design is the Everhot cooker, which influenced the entire layout. We maximized the space by incorporating a small peninsula with a breakfast bar, and a full-height pantry set back to preserve light in the room. Despite the challenges of fitting everything into the space, we were able to meet all of Janet and John’s needs, creating a kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.
