Living room renovation
Bringing your old rooms back to life with our renovation team
This living room was in quite desperate need of attention when we arrived. With the old ceiling failing and backing plaster falling off the walls we set about a complete renovation. All loose plaster was knocked back to brick, all joinery removed including door casings, the gas fire was removed by our gas registered plumber and the olds laminate floor removed. Firstly a new suspended ceiling was built connecting in to the existing joists and fire boarded. All the areas of brick were patched back in and the whole room plastered out to a smooth finish.
At this point we had a blank canvas. The chimney breast was overboard to make is square and plumb ready for a 62″ tv that will take pride of place. Professional v-groove fit laminate flooring was fit from Howdens. New Door casings fit and 7 inch torus throughout. all the timber was screwed and plugged as the customer did not want to paint it but instead use wood stain. New 1100mm radiator fitted with hidden pipe work by our plumber Paul.
All the wood work was stained with a water based stain using a soft sponge for the best effect. everything had two coats as our customer wanted quite a dark look to the wood. Doors fitted and brass furniture fit. we gave the walls a watered down coat of emulsion ready for the final decoration by the customer.
