Hand made shaker kitchens made from hardwoods and birch ply

Welcome to our blog on a recent shaker kitchen we have recently finished in Helifield. As with all our kitchens and joinery using not just the right materials but the best quality materials is highly important for us and you the customer. We build kitchens to ensure longevity, are practical and importantly look the business! All our shakers are made from tulip wood and all cabinets are made from birch ply. Using theses materials as a basis for our kitchens colours and themes can then be adapted to suit your Style.

Introducing an oak theme to the decor end’s and worktops really complimented the whole finish of this kitchen. We didn’t want a “too modern or to rustic look” so we kept the designs vey simple of the shakers and let the colours do the talking. A feature set of drawers was commissioned to make a focal point, We used oak and strips of zebrano to make a unique look. All the doors and drawer runners are fitted with soft close mechanisms allowing them to slowly close by themselves.

As always with colours we use Farrow and ball a fantastic paint with the the finest range of colours that just can’t be matched. This is vert de terre chosen by our customer at the primary theme. All the doors and drawers are fitted with From the anvil handles and knobs, a company that always impress with quality products. We love to use birch ply in all our kitchens and we refuse to have chipboard or MDF in the workshop. All our cabinetry is made from the birch ply and its strength will last for years to come whether painted, lacquered or oiled. In this kitchen all the cabinets were also painted in vert de terre to add to the theme.

From Cad drawings to installation

This allows us to incorporate your ideas in to a visual format and lets you see the idea before it comes to fruition. At this point ideas can easily be changed and the final kitchen be planed out before any wood is cut.
