Barn Conversion Living room Plastering
Renovation work In Long preston By TF Building and Renovations
Interesting project for us to work on in the town of Long Preston. The property was a barn conversion that had been renovated a good few years ago. With the whole room covered in textured plaster and the customer requesting plaster right down to the tiles with no skirting boards. Firstly a base coat of bonding was applied to make good the areas behind the existing skirting boards and any big hollows. Blue grit adhecive was applied to all the walls and ceilings to make sure we get a good connection to the existing walls. Radiators are removed and capped off. Plugs and switches are carefully unscrewed and moved away from the wall to work around. With the wall being traditional hard wall, they were not straight and the customer requested he wanted to keep this feel but with a smooth finish. Masking tape is used to keep edges neat and tidy, also to keep plaster off anything we don’t want it on. The whole floor is sheeted up and spot boards set up. The base cote went on quite thick to cover the textured plaster underneath then troweled up as smooth as possible. The top coat is applied to a smooth finish and polished up. Radiators and electrics are fit and tightened back up ready for a good clean up.
