Bespoke Laundry Room
Made To Measure Laundry room
and storage cabinets.
Every millimetre made the difference in this project! We were approached by Charlie, one of our returning customers in Hebden, North Yorkshire, with a real challenge. He had converted his downstairs storage room into an additional bathroom, and needed us to fit some bespoke cabinets for the laundry area. While the concept sounded simple enough, space was extremely limited, and every inch counted.
The cabinets had to accommodate a washing machine, tumble dryer, a pull-out shelf, an ironing board, and vacuum storage, all while ensuring the doors could still swing open in a room with only 300mm of space between the cabinets and the bathroom wall. After a couple of site visits and several CAD drawings, we found the best solution and got started on the build.
The doors were crafted from Black Valchromat, giving them a sleek, modern finish that suited the style of the room. We then applied Osmo Hard Wax Oil for a durable yet elegant finish. To keep the design clean and minimal, we chose solid oak handles with a finger pull running the full length of the doors. This subtle feature helps maintain the integrity of the design—rather than overwhelming the space with a solid black wall. We also incorporated a solid oak pull handle for the sliding shelf, adding warmth and continuity to the look.
It was incredibly rewarding to see the transformation in such a small space, and the cabinets not only met the functional needs but also enhanced the overall aesthetic. A perfect solution for a challenging space!
