Victorian inspired bathroom Skipton
Victorian inspired bathroom and tiling Skipton
Fantastic project to work on, this bathroom has had a lot of hours spent working closely with our customer to deliver his exact ideas. The original bathroom was ripped out and with such an elaborate tilting plan a lot of prep work was put in to ensure the fitting went exactly to plan. New floor joists were fitted and levelled to ensure longevity and stability, all the walls were rebuilt plumb and the exterior wall insulated, suspended ceiling and rewire.
The inspiration was posh victorian wash house with a intricate tiling plan for the bathroom. All the tiles are for a company called Original Style who specialise in this look especially for the floor. The boarder and inlay was made to fit the shape of the room and follow the shower tray and cupboard. The wall tiles including skirting tiles, egg and dart border tiles and coving tiles followed a colour scheme to fit with bathroom. It took over 2200 tiles! All the suite and fittings were suppled by a company called Burlington with a range that compliments the victorian era.
To house the boiler we made a bespoke cupboard with oak shaker doors for access and storage. An oak panel door was fitted with traditional furniture and opaque glass to allow like through in to the hall way but not allow you to see through. Ourselves and our customer are very happy with the outcome of the bathroom and it was very enjoyable to work on something a little different.
